Re: Scored discs
The lifetime mpg of mine is 24mpg after 64K miles. I also live in London but most miles outside of that are motorway. I am getting 30K out of a set of tires as well as 30K on pads and 64K on the front disks. Am I driving miss Daisy?

Re: Do I extended the warranty?
Seems the sensible choice to renew

Re: Scored discs
Mine has just had its 2nd set of front pads but only its first set of new front disks after 64K miles. Audi always tell you to replace both, but unless you are very heavy on the brakes (track days etc) or haul heavy loads, my personal view/experience is that they should last way more miles. My first...

Do I extended the warranty?
My RS6 is coming up to 4 years old and has about 64K miles on the clock. It's been main dealer serviced and has not had any problems (apart from the wheels getting nicked) It is under warranty until the end of year 4. I was wondering if anyone with a high miler like mine has had any reliability issu...

New Dunlops
So I've got 27,500 miles on the first set of tyres. I only got about 22k out of each set on the C6 - suspect that is down to the lower weight - its certainly not due to changing my driving habits. Interestingly the new R01 Dunlops don't have the foam sound insulation like the ones that the car was s...

Re: Colour Advice - Something Wild
I went with Misano Red which is a 3 stage paint on the RS6 (so "slightly" more orange than their standard misano colour) and paired this with black optics. Gives you an idea of the look. My fiancé wouldn't let me get anything more exciting

Re: DUNLOP TYRES PUNCTURE
Well I'm not surprised that the importer told you that they could not be repaired. That's not what Kwik Fit have told me on the two occasions that I've had punctures in my foam lined Dunlops repaired by them. Foam liner is for noise reduction - nothing else. Some Contis have this too

Re: Pad/disk replacement
On the C6 I found that the Dunlop's weren't quite as grippy as the Pirellis, but only a smidge and so certainly not worth the extra cash/increased wear. The Dunlop's were also a hell of a lot quieter. Haven't driven a C7 on Pirellis so can't make a personal recommendation from actual experience, but...

Re: Pad/disk replacement
Mine has also just had its first service (18K miles) at Wimbledon Audi and not a mention of it needing pads. When my C5 or C6 needed pads, the dealers I have used always suggested I change the disks at the same time. I always declined and only replaced the disks or pads when the brake ware warning l...

Re: Oil leak from diff
OK so the oil leak was caused by a faulty seal between the diff and the gear box. Did not need gearbox/engine removal just gearbox/diff split so only 2 days work. Whilst the car was there they checked the cars onboard computer and found that it had decided that: 1) the mechanism on the MMI screen wa...

Re: "grating of steering"
Tends to happen most when tyres are cold and with a damp surface. The noise is the rubber losing traction on the outer front wheel relative to the turn

Oil leak from diff
Just taken my beloved in for her first service and on inspection it's sprung an oil leak from the front center diff. Garage informs me that it will be covered by warranty but its a 2-3 day job to investigate and fix

Re: Tracker and the RS6
I'm with Direct Line and they require a Cat 5 - which is even more secure than a Cat 6.
Downside - its more expensive to fit and run
Upside - the premium was £500 a year less than for my old C6 (£500 less for a £40K car vs £92K car) - which means it will pay for itself within 3 years.
