Re: Winter Wheels & Tyres
You have some options - if you want something to match the OEM 20in wheel you need the following - 20" x 9.5" ET36 5x112 Or you can go with the smaller 19in OEM wheels which are - 19" x 9" ET38 5x112 Both sizes can be found on eBay etc quite cheaply if its just a "winter set" you're after. As for ty...

"503 Service unavailable" - continual error message for past 6+ weeks
Hi Phil,
Been getting these messages continually for the past 6+ weeks now, with the forum being unacceptable until the early hours. Anything we can do to help or this an internal issue?

Fixed, fuse SA2 for the coil-packs had blown, had a 10A fuse fitted instead of a 30A fuse as per the wiring diagrams, no idea why or when it may have been fitted.

It's back and with a very simple fix, yet still lived upto its name as the £1000 car because anything happens at all and it usually starts at £1000 to fix it! So, after suspecting fuel it turns out there's nothing wrong with the fuel system. I got help from another RS6 owner on the RS Forum who chec...

Re: Part ID - Recirc / Diaphram on bottom of Air Intake
The way Audi designed it is that your "supposed" to order a whole new lower airbox which comes with one installed - that's such a joke isn't it, being told by Audi to order a massive part rather than a simple replaceable unit! My only concern would be what boost levels those non-RS6 valves might cop...

Re: Someone with VCDS - A quick Low Fuel Pressure check for me please.
I scanned it about 2hrs after the breakdown and there is literally no codes, that's the interesting bit. Since it's been a week, and I hadn't driven if for the week before, it's now understandably getting some low voltage codes, there's a code for the G85 steering angle as we moved the steering with...

Awesome, thanks for that, kind of confirms the "only ECU 1 gets the signal" theory for me and means my fault must still lie elsewhere.
I swear if this is just a fuse issue I'll be upset

Someone with VCDS - A quick Low Fuel Pressure check for me please.
Hi all, Could some kind soul with VCDS please check something for me in the fuel system for both ECU 1 and 2 as I'm seeing something odd on mine and I wonder if its the cause of my current breakdown. In both ECU 1 and 2 I'm looking for the following two readings in Advanced Measurements, both before...

Fault Finding Update - still awaiting delivery to MRC, but here's what I've found whilst tinkering about with VCDS: Previously I ran my VCDS software which shows that the intank fuel pump is getting a command to run, the fuse for the fuel pump relay is good - The update is that now I've checked that...

Ah................................some people have no sense of humour! https://i.imgur.com/ftm3yUx.jpeg Luckily for me, this wasn't a legal issue but instead it was the Police coming to my rescue after I broke down alongside an NSL main road and they helped tow me to a local petrol station for my sa...

For the first time in what seems like forever, I took my car out to display it at a car show, so today I was at Cambridgeshire's largest car show, the 4KAutoShow held at Newmarket Race Course. There was around 500+ cars on display (my pics just show 1 of the 3 display areas), from various clubs arou...

Re: Metallic Rattle noise
From the video I wonder if it could be coming from the fuel vapour recirc valve on the back/left of the engine bay as that makes that type of pulsed "rattle" noise which you can hear with the engine running but it "should" be quieter than the tapping sounds of the injectors. The general area - https...

Is it worth a small blob of silicon/sealant etc on the back of the plug to hold it in place "just in case"?

Just find a garage that will give a ticket pass. Easy If only it was that easy! I spoke to both MRC and Unit20 who can't find a local "friendly MOT" place anymore, and there's absolutely no-one close to me in Norfolk who are "emissions friendly" either, and all this (according to a few places that ...

So after a quiet 6 months, what's new? Well pull up a chair and let me tell you the tale of how a simple exhaust change reminded me that - my maths maybe not be same as everyone else's maths, which caused a bit of an issue! First some history on my exhaust - originally this was a complete Frankenste...
