Yip I was told the lip might cause vibration if I don't change both the discs and pads together.
Not sure I agree, seems excessive to change discs at 17000 miles!
Think I'll have someone else look and get a second opinion.
For those who gave done pads only, any problems?

Re: Electronic Service History
Cheers for info. I assumed only dealers could update the electronic history as it would be there system.
If good specialists can do it then even better. I'll certainly ask the question.

Electronic Service History
Due to my less than ideal experience at my usual Audi dealer I am now considering reputable specialists for future work other than maybe inspection servicing. With Audi now having done away with the traditional service record book and giving us a print out of the electronic service history when we v...

Re: RS4 B8 Front standard Brake Pads
I've been looking you can see at least 5mm of pad material before the backing plate, not sure what the limit would be considered to be? Discs look fine to me. There is a slight lip on the outer edge where they've worn but doesn't seem too bad to me. The drivers side seems to have more of a lip than ...

Re: RS4 B8 Front standard Brake Pads
I've queried my brakes on here before when I was told by audi both front pads and discs should be renewed at 11,000 miles despite the warning light not being on. I never had them done at the time and now the car has done 16,800 miles and has just gone through its 2 year inspection service. They agai...

Platinum Polish
The guys at Platinum Polish in Glasgow who have the Ceramic Pro franchise in Scotland had my car this week for a two stage paint correction and then applied the Ceramic coat. They also powdered coated and refurbed my wheels gun metal grey. I'm very happy with the result, swirl marks and light scratc...

Re: Tyres - Toyo Proxes T1 AO
I found some info on Audis Middle East website that AO tyres are audi approved and RO1 are for Quattro models not just RS and S models.
Still seems poor that my brand new RS4 came on AO not RO1's then

Tyres - Toyo Proxes T1 AO
My car came delivered on Toyo Proxes T1 since its on 19's Time for tyres now and was seriously considering Michelin PS2 or SS due to the reviews on here. Best price I've found is about £185 for PS and £210 for SS. However, been looking again and Mytyres.co.uk have got the Toyos for £85! Ive always f...

Heated Rear 3/4 windows
Hi all, I can see what looks like heating elements on the rear 3/4 Windows just as per the rear screen. However, on visiting Aviemore this weekend with some sub zero temps I noticed they were not defrosting the windows when I turned on the rear screen heating. Rear works fine. To be honest I noticed...

Re: Front Discs and pads - anyone renewed?
Thanks guys, sounds more like what I was expecting. This is my first RS but I've had plenty other performance cars and never had to renew discs so early. I had an Impreza STI which I thrashed and never renewed the Brembo set up in nearly 25,000 discs or pads. I will certainly be keeping a keen eye w...
