Re: Location and resistance of the oil temp sensor

First: Rule #2; FON!

Second: I'd hesitate to put in a resistor, "redneck style".

Third: Read this one: Solution

Last: Vælkommen till forumet!

Re: Dim rear lights

Sorry for zombieposting.

Does any one have
1) Link or spare part number to the facelifted ones?
2) Any alternatives? (I'd want dark toned ones..)

Ceramic change out on Audi good will?

Gents,

Searched, but no find.

I've been told (by several people now) that Audi is changing our ceramic brakes on good will.

Does anyone know why... or how....?

Some rust found, rear cross beam

Gents,

Just had the yearly check.

Noticed this myself. The guy performing the check (government) had no comments.

Anyone knows if this is common? Nothing to worry about? Fix urgently? Fix whenever?

Re: Backbox/muffler delete

The 30-45 second long cold start can be mapped down to 2-5 seconds my MRC or alternatively start the car, switch it off immediately and then restart it. That also stops the cold start feature. Is that something that can be done at home via VCDS or does it, indeed, need to be done by MRC or similar ...

Re: Show me ur aftermarket wheels

Sorry slow reply. A bit off the grid in the Phils!

I'm running 265/30ZR22 Forgestar F14 titan on Michelin Super Sport.

Regarding the black ones in this thread: He seems to be running steel brakes which makes for a variety of choices.

Re: Your thoughts on potential new wheels?

Spoiler is ILR Carbon.

Fair point with the rims being exposed to curbs/potholes. But we are quite limited in our selection when wanting >20" and having ceramic brakes.

Re: Your thoughts on potential new wheels?

I'm happy with my 22" Forgestar F14.
Ride quality not affected. Bumps no issues at all.

Also reading the "BOV and boost pressure" thread, referring to Forge BOVs...

Thinking for further upgrade / TTE850.

Re: Oil debate

The difference is what kind of lubrication you get - full, mixed- or boundry lubrication (all depends on temperature and viscosity). The difference between 30 and 40 is so small though, so I'd eat my hat if Ian's experience is anything else than placebo. Edit: Too low viscosity and you get premature...
