Cruise control not working will more than likely be due to the clutch switch. Have a search here as it's well documented.

Easy fix to do yourself.

I drove from Essex to Unit 20 to get mine done. Went to Chester zoo for the day while the car was being done then made a weekend of it with a trip to Peak District after.
