RNS-E

Good afternoon gentlemen. My Car has been garaged for over a year now as I just don’t get time to use it. As we are about to move house, my wife is “asking” me to get rid of some spares that have been hanging around the spare room, so I was wondering what is a 2008 RNS-E with the C5 face plate worth...

Re: Heater controls ?

I got a second hand unit off flea bay from a “normal” A6 and just swapped the + and - buttons. They are not the soft touch but you really can’t see anything amiss when fitted. I tried the stickers but they didn’t look as good. I also don’t think the standard buttons will go the same way. Sent from m...

Another gearbox problem

Hi Joe, sorry to be the one to give you the bad news, but that is more than likely going to need a rebuild. That is how mine was. Got it up to Grizz at Unit 20 for him to remove the box, have it rebuilt , sort out the TC and then do loads of other bits while the engine was out. Not a cheap exercise....

Re: GEARBOX TCU

I just had the F125 switch replaced when the car was serviced. Symptoms had been showing when starting from cold, putting it into drive , engaging with a bang and then all gear lights lit up. Switched it off, started in neutral and then into drive - all ok. It did this nearly every morning but was o...

Re: What tyre ?

Anyone put the PS4 on yet?? Haven't used mine for a while and it is still on its winter wheels. Looked at changing them back on the weekend but only a couple of mm left on the old PS2's.
And would I need to grind off the old knobbly bits??
Thanks

Re: What *are* you like?

Saw Iron Maiden in Cardiff a few weeks ago - really going gig and nice small venue. Managed to get VIP tickets with our own private bar - a very refined way of seeing a band now that I'm getting on a bit!

Re: Dead gearbox advice and options.

I believe they are just a gearbox specialist. It's well worth getting Unit 20 to take out and replace as they know these cars inside out and can advise if anything else should be done while the lump is on the floor

Re: Dead gearbox advice and options.

Unit 20 handled my gearbox rebuild. The box itself was done by Chester Autos, I had several conversations with them during the rebuild as it was being partly funded by the warranty company. That was 4 years ago and around 30,000 miles and it is still working fine.

No More PS2 R01

Now my tyre of choice is no longer available, I've searched the forum but can,t say I'm impressed with the choice available as I still have "the knobbly bit". Am I going to have to have them removed or can anyone say they have found a tyre that will fit and they are genuinely happy with. By the way ...

Re: What *are* you like?

Satriani is touring UK in November, I'm seeing him again in Cardiff but he's also playing Birmingham Symphony Hall which is a great venue. Level 42 are at Indigo at the O2. I saw them last year at Birmingham Symphony Hall and they were superb.

Great idea - good to see who people consider worth seeing live. Gigs I've been to in no particular order: James Brown Steely Dan Eagles Rob Zombie Marilyn Manson Alice Cooper George Michael Aerosmith (twice) The Police Shakira Lady Gaga Santana Joe Satriani Gary Moore Status Quo (when I was 8) Pink ...

Re: Locking/unlocking issue

Hi, I have had problems with my central locking since I had the car, but finally fixed it. different problem to yours as it was to do with the car not knowing if the driver's door was open or closed. However, when I had problems with the remote and had to use the key, I couldn't open any of the othe...

Re: RS6 High Milers

I bought a driver's door lock off ebay. Didn't think about it until I'd stripped the window off the door got the lock off and then realised that a front right door lock from Europe is their passenger door and no provision for the lever from the key!! As it was all apart I had to get one from TPS for...

Unlocking door with key

Hi guys, finally fixed a problem I have had with the car since I bought it. The DIS would never show that the driver's door was open. After changing the door lock and trying a second hand CCM, it turned out to be one of cable crimps in the loom by side of the driver's seat. So that fixed, my questio...
