Re: Make the change from a 911?
RS4 B7 bread van you say? It is a very fine thing indeed. Had one for nearly 3 years and it was brilliant. Quattro drivetrain does not spoil the party at all - I found it an incredibly involving car to drive, particularly when pressing on. 'Officially' (I.e. according to Audi) you can't fit a tow ba...

Re: Audi warranty
Did you try to transfer it? When I bought mine from Andy, there is a page in the back of the warranty book for transferring. They were very helpful and got it changed straight away. Just had to renew it and it was £840 for the year which isnt bad as there was a claim for a replacement injector this...

Re: Severe brake judder....
This reminds me that I never did get round to posting my successful fix for brake judder (which I twice had on my B7), and theory about why it happens - it will take me a day or 2 to find the right pictures to explain, and type it all out, but in the meantime a couple of quick points: - Agree with m...

Re: iPod connection.
The Audi iPod interface for the pre-2010 RNS-E isn't much better as it still reduces the iPod to 6 virtual CDs and you still don't see any track info. IMHO the best OEM way is to change the RNS-E to a 2010+ version which will then allow you to swap the glovebox CD changer to a CAN version of AMI wh...

Re: Buckets to comforts with memory
As you say, illuminated button sounds positive, as it's clearly connected up You're certain that you've got the correct window motor with the 8H prefix and all of the connection pins? (not some blanked out as on a standard car) And I assume you've followed the instructions in the manual to set up me...

Re: WTB: Mecan S Diesel in white/ black fully spec'd.
TBH you'll struggle finding used ones at any discount - with the long lead times, main dealers are still able to sell them for virtually their original list price. Supply & demand and all that...

Re: Lights to LHD?
ah sorry... misread the question! have to leave that to someone more au fait with VCDS on the C6 I'm afraid - I knew it inside out on the B7 but sold the kit before I got the C6 so never go the chance to have a play

Re: Lights to LHD?
Marcus's (my old!) car has 2g - assuming it works similar to the system in a B7 then it's a piece of cake with VCDS

Re: Macan Turbo arrived
Any thoughts on the need for ceramics? As I think has pretty much been said, need and want aren't necessarily the same. For us this car is a keeper, so if I'd had the cash I'd have been tempted with PCCB, but only really for lifespan, and even then I doubt they'd work out much cheaper. For road use...

Re: Macan Turbo arrived
Think he meant the 991 Turbo S as Porsche have just launched the Gen 2 Turbo & Turbo S which follow the launch of the Gen 2 Carrera & Carrera S they launched a few weeks ago. That I did....Carrera soft launch next week. Ah understood - I admit I do get lost in the 735 versions in the 911 range (it'...

Re: Macan Turbo arrived
Agreed on the cost, but the Turbo with spec was still 10 grand more, so the S was the compromise. Guess it depends what you're after from it - for us we wanted stuff like bigger wheels, xenons, PCM, PASM, sport seats & Bose, all of which is standard in the turbo. Plus my wife said it had to have th...

Re: Macan Turbo arrived
The petrol S is a good choice, but depending what you want on the car, when you start ticking the options boxes, the 'Turbo' soon starts to look like good value because it comes with lots of extra kit as standard, and the extra oomph makes it just about perfect (for me anyway) Not sure I agree re th...
