Re: Car caught fire what’s it worth

Sorry to hear this, if you do decide to break I'd be interested in the gearbox.

Re: Gearbox in limp mode! Advice please

Update - I finally got some time last week to remove the TCU which turned out to be surprisingly easy (1 hr tops). It was sent to ECUTESTING who have rebuilt the car's ABS/ECU module successfully in the past. Just got an update from them - they test/repair these units regularly but couldn't read the...

Re: Gearbox in limp mode! Advice please

As I've only got the one DTC to go on and how the car is behaving is it possible to remove TCU and test it? If so can this be done by any garage or would it require a specialist? Just trying to narrow this down.

Thanks

Re: Gearbox in limp mode! Advice please

Thanks for the input, will have a go at getting the carpet up at the weekend. What needs to be removed, glove box, door sill trim? Any pointers appreciated.

Gearbox in limp mode! Advice please

So it looks like it is my turn for gearbox woes. Car had been driving fine with no prior symptoms but on the way back from Cornwall approaching a roundabout revs rose but no forward motion. I switched into manual mode and there was then an almighty clunk before PRNDS lit up on dash and car started p...

Re: ABS module failure? VCDS codes attached

A belated update after picking my 6 up yesterday. Having fitted a new brake light switch and /checking cleaning the ABS module, yaw sensor connections, fuse, etc I was still getting the following codes along with intermittent ESP or ABS light: 18057/P1649/005705 - Powertrain Data Bus: Missing Messag...

Re: ABS module failure? VCDS codes attached

Thanks for the quick response! I'll get the coolant temp sensor replaced, exactly where is it located? Re the yaw sensor yes it came back after I cleared the codes. Am I right in thinking it is located under the rear seat in an avant?

Hi All I'm reaching the conclusion my ABS module is toast and would appreciate any ideas on anything else I could check before booking her in. Symptoms - for the last few weeks I have been getting the ESP warning light or ABS light illuminated (never both at the same time). Typically when I start th...
