Re: Should I buy a s5
Had a go in the A5 with the child seat and there's bags of room. Also had A test drive of an A5 3.0 TDI. Sold. I'm definitely buying one over the S5. Very quick, plenty of kit. Can't justify the extra cost with very little performance gain for the S5. So I have to concur with aka_dk! And thus ends m...

Re: Should I buy a s5
Well for comparison, I just stuck a front facing baby seat in the back of the Scirocco which is a bit smaller in the back than the A5/S5 I believe and it's no hassle what so ever. So much easier than a rear facing one. I'll keep you posted on the A5 when I try it out this weekend. Appreciate the com...

Re: Should I buy a s5
I've gone from considering an RS4 (DRC failures, insurance, brake pad & disc costs, running costs and the fact that it is being imminently replaced let me to dismiss the car as an option) to considering an S5 and I'm in the same boat as you. I'm coming from a Scirocco which has been great in terms o...

Thats what I like to hear (sorry current owners). My search begins in April so I cheering on as much depreciation as possible.SteveG wrote:I'd hold off for a few months before buying. You may save a few quid. They took a bit of a hit this month alone.

Re: Buying B7 RS4 advice, pls be gentle :)
Dealers always remove RNSE if the car is parked outside overnight. Where was that April 2006 Daytona on 18s first registered? To an Audi dealer like Oaks or Oakfield? Recall a mate test driving an early Daytona saloon on 18s it when it was new with a plate along the lines of R5 0AKS (R 50 AKS). I m...

This car has been for sale for ages, it has the wrong alloys on, it has a high mileage and i notice they have put a "THIS MILEAGE IN NOT VERIFIED" sticker on, was this on when you viewed the car ? It has been reduced month after month, see how much discount they would give you off a set of 19" seve...

Re: Audi approved - accident damaged
What is the book price coming in at versus the price the dealer is offering? If there's a gap push for it to be closed. I can also see Audi UK's point of view as this is a used car that has been misrepresented by the dealer. Not really anything to do with the manufacturer. They might slap the dealer...

Re: Newbie buying questions / concerns
No brainer. If you buy the S4 and pull up next to a B7 RS4 on a forecourt you'll be gutted. Buy it! PS: Mercs & Beemers are equally <beep> in the snow. Had to dig my wife and neighbour's Merc's out during the last downfall. To be honest, although some say that the RS4 is starting to look dated, I s...

Re: Audi approved - accident damaged
According to trading standards as soon as you realise that the car is not fit for purpose or as described you should return it and demand a refund. In this case the supplying dealer told you at the time that the car had never been involved in an accident and had never had remedial work carried out. ...

Re: Newbie buying questions / concerns
EvilDerboy, I am one of the ones running a second car now but just to quantify, I was doing some 350-400 miles a week commuting plus some extra trips to London Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester so in effect £100-120 a week in fuel for normal commute and then some for the longer trips plus weekend sp...

Re: Newbie buying questions / concerns
On the subject of depreciation. I'll be looking at a purchase in April next year. Based on how the cars value has been depreciating so far. Can anyone hazard a guess on what an RS4 valued at £24k will be worth then?

Re: Newbie buying questions / concerns
Something else to ask. What's the general consensus on where to buy one of these? Obviously it goes without saying that you should give it a thorough going over regardless of where you get it from but, with it being the kind of car that it is, are there any horror stories about buying from an indepe...
