Re: My first problem / fault code

Did you guys have any luck fixing this fault? I am showing the same error code with same symptoms - comes back after clearing the code.

I haven't checked the fuses yet so was hoping for some pointers. Did changing the control module fix the fault in the end?

Cheers,

Andrew.

Re: Excited new owner (with an actual car now!)

Wow. What. A. Car! So, I've been driving around for a few weeks now - took the car down for a mooch round the Festival of Speed (no, didn't take part in the hill climb) and had a good mix of driving and it's very very much fun indeed. I had a Monaro before this and the RS6 is so much more civilised ...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

I think there a few eBay sellers trading on that confusion too, possibly trying to pass on the non 3D versions with a vague description. Take this for example - I can't work out if it's the proper new version with updated H/W. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-A3-S3-RNS-E-8P0035193-GPS-SILVER-HIGH-RESOLUTI...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Just paid the balance and will be picking up the car tomorrow afternoon - Yay! Just have 3 and a half hours of train tedium to endure first to get there - Poo!

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

I've got a contact for C5 double din faceplates. Not cheap though €199. PM me. Cheers, that might be useful. Has anyone successfully fitted the 3rd gen RNS-E and got it all working in the Rs6? Hopefully with the right boot up logo. I'd like to go for the newer version but it would look very shoddy ...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

The C5 ones will be getting a bit long in the tooth, I would have thought. Surely one of the pioneer avic things with the canbus integration for MFSW would be a better value option for someone wanting more features. That's kind of what I'm thinking... I had an Alfa 166 on a W plate (2000) that used...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Are the A6 faceplates available to buy anywhere or are you guys just waiting for stuff to pitch up on eBay from time to time?

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

FON. FOBB :notworthy: Seriously, 1100 euros? Wow. The ones I saw were on eBay so I suspect there are a few duff units floating around on there. I'd love it if Pioneer made a version of the AVIC touchscreen unit to fit Audi like they do for some other marques. The proper Audi route looks expensive e...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Interesting... would be useful to know if anyone has any experience with Virdy Autos. To be honest though I'm thinking of having a bash at this myself - removing the trim is apparently pretty straightforward as is applying the carbon fiber wrap. I did a quick search and came up with this (apologies ...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Hi everyone & thanks for your comments. I would like to get something that looks pretty close to stock if possible. I'm in the process of selling my (three weeks) old Pioneer AVIC-F930BT headunit because I don't think it would have looked quite right. Must admit, I'm slightly regretting that decisio...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

No, my cantonese is a bit rusty! I think the navigation part runs on a separate Windows CE board on most of these cheapo chinese units so they can run pretty much any navigation software. Maybe even something in English. Some of the adverts on ebay say that nav s/w is not included but they'll say wh...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Been searching all afternoon for these - lots of different chinese suppliers but this one looks about the closest to a proper RNS-E unit but has loads of features. I have a feeling I might end up as guinea pig for trying one of these unless anyone already has one? http://autoradiohk.com/Show_P.asp?I...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

Been doing some more digging and found lots of chinese suppliers/resellers for similar units. I would hope for something that looks reasonably OEM - unfortunately the info on these is pretty scarce but this doesn't that bad. At least they've attempted to copy the Audi UI style: http://www.szenco.com...

Re: Excited new owner (almost!)

It's a saloon in Black. Still waiting for the fecking bank to clear a cheque so I can pay and collect the car. Getting quite cross having to wait 5 days for Intelligent Finance to make the funds available. Muppets. Meanwhile, I've been investigating RNS-D replacement options. I've seen lots of info ...

Excited new owner (almost!)

Hello all, I've just paid a deposit on a black RS6 and pending funds all clearing will be collecting either at the weekend or early next week! Getting very excited at the prospect. I did lots of searching prior to buying and came across this forum - so I've learned lots already about the car. The pr...
