What is the best way to remove the pre cats?

I have a set of black leather seats for a saloon with rear seat folding option

For Sale Front and rear seats in black leather, rear seats have split fold facility and fronts have airbags and electric bolster adjustment, both working. fronts are perfect, no rips or tears could do with some leather food - rears are also very good, however there had been a fire in the petrol fill...

I have just bought a Cat c car for an engine transplant, it has no clocks fitted but comes with the keys etc... the car turns over and fires for a second, very smooth, then cuts out - do I need to have the clocks fitted for it to carry on or could it be another issue?
