Re: Inlet Flaps

Hi
I understand your concern - I'd suggest giving Martin at Unit20 a call who I'm sure will give you some good advice - he was always very helpful whenever I rang him about issues.

Re: Auf Wiedersehen RS4 and Ciao to Giulia Veloce

I believe it may have worked loose - when Martin at Unit20 built up the replacement engine he said the manifold was badly worn so a new one was fitted which if IRC was an eye-watering £2.5K. Perhaps the right spec of Loctite might be worthwhile.

Auf Wiedersehen RS4 and Ciao to Giulia Veloce

So, after 13 years, almost 60K miles and seven European road trips, we have finally said a sad goodbye to our RS4 - it was hard to let it go but it’s been a great experience and I will never forget what is one of the great V8 soundtracks. Overall, reliability was very good except for one major issue...

Re: Meet up

Bedfordshire meet-up sounds a good idea, not far from my gaff in Cambridgeshire.

Undertray replaced - Audi no longer stock it

While in France, we had a scary moment when a screeching noise from under the car suddenly appeared - my first thought was a broken rear spring and the tyre rubbing against the inner liner. Fortunately it was the undertray having split and partially broken up. Some jury-rigging with cable-ties was a...

Re: Tax bracket ???

I bought my 2006 saloon (registered 6th March) in 2011 so tax savings of over £2500 have certainly helped in the running costs, particularly a replacement engine in 2018 !

It certainly acts as a small incentive to keeping it

Re: Brake failure during MOT

On speaking to Martin at Unit20, he told me the caliper connecting pipe was available from Ebay - ordered it yesterday and it arrived today for £25.00 - getting it fitted on Monday so MOT will be sorted.

Re: Brake failure during MOT

Sorry, I didn't explain the problem accurately - the pipe that split is the looped metal one that links one part of the caliper to the other.

Brake failure during MOT

While it was being MOT'd my beloved RS decided to split a brake pipe while on its road test having passed the static test. The small loop-shaped connecting pipe between caliper and chassis on the driver-side front has split. Nine years ago I had the same issue on the near-side front and as before a ...

Re: Bilstein B8 dampers fitted as replacement for DRC

Hi

DRC at 111,000 miles is pretty impressive assuming it hasn't been repaired earlier in its life.

Good luck with the B8s when you reach the same situation as I did.

Bilstein B8 dampers fitted as replacement for DRC

After 126,000 miles my DRC finally failed, given away by what sounded like golf clubs rattling in the boot. I bought the car at 76K miles and as far as I could establish from Audi it hadn't had any DRC parts replaced before then so I guess the original system did pretty well. Had the car transported...
