Re: Red RS 6 in Clapham
That's mine - mirror covers are being re-sprayed black which is why they are missing. Thanks for posting up :) Our friends at Aurora do a v good job...was there when your mirrors were being done. They've done a lot of work for me and I've taken all my cars there over last 10yrs. I'll wave if I see ...

Re: Gearbox oil change process
Having watched MRC do this job and knowing how much they charge as an indie, it's not something I would attempt myself - too many opportunities to royally <beep> it up, or not put enough fluid in. Luckily my box oil wasn't burnt, wasn't black and didn't have any metal in...was in very good condition...

Re: DRC v Air
I've driven both, although the DRC equipped car was more of a couple of hours test drive and the other I had for a week on extended test period From my personal point of view, I found the standard suspension set up very comfortable and eliminated enough roll and diving to maintain its sporting inte...

Re: DRC v Air
DRC on 21s is fine. There are two settings comfort and dynamic. The individual part refers to the full selection of settings. So you can set the car up as comfort or dynamic or individual. In the latter you can tweak each component individually, hence the term. Make sense? It's the same as the rs4/...

Re: DRC v Air
Thanks DB. Don't know the cars with logic, but that makes sense. As long as it's not all or nothing and tuneable via a individual menu like the Air equipped models that's fine. Brochure suggests it isn't...so just not clear enough.
Has anyone driven both and what do you prefer guys?

DRC v Air
Having lived with one of these for a few days I'm thinking of getting one. My car was on Air though...very comfortable and smooth. Very, very impressive wagon. Have read all the threads on here tonight that reference the two systems, the Autocar and Harris reports and am unfortunately none the wiser...

Re: New Owner of RS6
If I understand you correctly Amanda, the originator of this thread bought the car kept it for just over a month and then returned it! How bizarre! Unfortunately, people's circumstances change over night....often for the worse financially. He may have lost his job or something else just as traumati...

Re: Need to know what you guys think
Slightly different perspective from me... I've had my 2009 from the start but it's only on 28k miles, so not driven heavily (just run-in) but also sits a lot doing nothing for weeks in London too, starts first time, still on original battery and brake discs...and only had oil, wheel bearings, brake ...

Re: Audi Extended Warranty
Defo PF I had my gearbox oil done 5k ago. Just had diff oil done at Unit 20 at Xmas. Car seems smoother through drivetrain now too. Car has done 46k. Great...that's good to know it feels different and worth doing. Wasn't a big convince for me though as I'm a big fan of frequent oil/fluid changes. M...

Re: Audi Extended Warranty
Had my oil done 5k miles ago. I believe Audi say boxes are sealed for life?? Chris The box is according to Audi a sealed unit and they really believe this as I've had the conversation with Mtech, but it does make sense to do a gearbox oil & filter service and dif oil change/service every 40k or 4yr...

Re: New Tyres?....ideas?
Arrghhh The famous 50p seal!! I was one of the first!! Seems a weak spot then by the sounds of things? One bonus for me was I got engine oil changed, new coolant, air con regassed and gearbox oil done at same time...and the rocker cover gaskets as they were weeping?...don't forget 4 wheel alignment...

Re: New Tyres?....ideas?
What's engine out for? That 53p seal, when it went for it's MOT and health check at another stealer they said no leak - same ones who messed up my DRC replacing a wheel bearing! LOL It is going to a trusted master tech in London to check out and repair/advise... (He has three others in for the same...

Re: New Tyres?....ideas?
I'm a fan of Michelin Pilot Super Sports - grip, performance and mileage/wear rate. Have them on my GT3RS too. Not tried the GY F1's so can't compare the two I'm afraid, but better than OEM fit tyres. I get them from CostCo who do a great job fitting them. See my posts about this subject previously ...

Re:
I recently purchased a CTeK MXS5.0.v1 for use on both my RS6 and GT3RS...both big heavy duty batteries. You don't need a 7 or 10, MXS3 up will suffice in fact, but you get the 8step program/reconditioning with 5 upwards. CTek is way to go for de-salphating and reconditioning. Very impressive piece ...
