Thanks to those people who got in touch - due to a change of plans I am no longer looking for an RS4.

Many thanks, rs32.

sorry wasn't clear with my original post, I did mean the Pioneer cannot generate the signals for the DIS, or if it can, it wasn't possible to get it working for either an R32 or a TT. For info, I've also found some of the wiring loom adaptors for the Pioneer units do not support the auto-dimming whe...

My Pioneer AVIC-BT unit (similar but slightly older) definitely does not generate CAN messages to VAG cars. Used in 2 previous R32's and a TT.

Although they can be made to work with steering wheel controls without issues.

Re: RE: toys

Looks good rs32  Am thinking of getting something similar myself. In hindsight, would you get a Clio again for track use? Is yours road legal? apart from long uphill straights, the car is perfect for the track. Doesn't quite have the raw power to really stretch its legs i.e. top speed - but...

RE: toys

haven't used it for a while, but here is the track Clio. Revs to 7500, weighs about 950kg and grips like a very sticky thing. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/rs32/172%20Cup%20prep/P1000807.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/rs32/172%20Cup%20prep/P1000805.jpg http://i179.photobucket....

Wanted - B7 RS4

B7 RS4 - Saloon or Avant - must have well-documented history - must be standard car - must have satellite navigation - ideally Sprint Blue, Mugello Blue or Daytona Grey - would consider silver but definitely not black - ideally less than 40k miles - ideally technology pack - ideally flat-bottom stee...

hello P_G, thanks - I'm not too bothered about the maxxed-out bit as I wouldn't be using the car on track. I'm leaning towards the saloon in Daytona with non-bucket Recaros, carbon inlays and the usual techno bits. If we need genuine practicality I'll hire a van for £25 :D How do the Audi extended w...

plans as follows :

1) Buy a B7 and escape from (a) diesel and (b) automatic gearboxes
2) Dedicate half of my time to plotting out routes containing Shell VPower stations. A task sorely missed since the CSL went to a new home.

RE: Re: new member saying hello

What spec is the car you are looking at purchasing? herein lies the quandry I have it in my head that the normal (non-bucket) Recaros + Avant + Nav etc is the best for me. Then I find out the saloon has split/fold rear seat (which pretty much deals with any flexibility bonus the Avant would have of...

new member saying hello

Hi folks, just joined the site. Hoping to pick up a B7 Avant with < 40k miles in the next few weeks. Hope you don't mind a couple of questions about longer-term ownership - having come from various M3's and currently a 730d I'm not used to the RS4 servicing, common issues and good/bad points list ! ...
