They'll see you have a custom exhaust anyway? Andy change to the cats / pipe sections or back boxes would surely invalidate in the same way because they would be OEM parts? I see now what you mean in your original explanation, I misread it. The headers are bolted to the one piece exhaust system whi...

It is a one piece system IIRC so most cut their exhausts, that's what happened with mine. That said it was not welded together with the OEM section, it is clamped so is relatively easy to remove and replace with the OEM exhaust if it ever comes to need that. So from the branches/headers back it's a...

Exhaust Question
Hi All. I am looking at getting a custom made exhaust system for my car and my question is, can the stock exhaust be "unbolted" from the headers back. I dont want to have to cut out the old ones and weld in the new ones. Also my car is still under a maintenance plan and would be easy just to bolt on...

Why would it knock back timing on top end ? Wouldnt it pull back under 5000 rpm as now its sucking in hot air. Top end it should be open afaik. Not so much demand on timing at lower revs, needs to be advanced as far as it feels safe to get max efficiency at higher revs, hot air/bad fuel will peg th...

I refer back to a post i made a few weeks ago. My flap is sticking in the open position. How bad is this to leave it like that ? Sorry I didn't reply, it wont do any harm, just might knock the timing back a bit at the top end. As for it sticking, undo the vac pipe and see if it still sticks, if it ...

Thanks for that. Very interesting so it seems the flap staying open isnt good at all. How did you fix yours ? I suspect the spring on the flap might be screwedneckarsulm wrote:http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... highlight=

Hi I did this test yesterday on my RS4 and the intake flap works 100%. However the airbox flap opens, but doesnt close. I can feel it trying to close however it doesnt close at all. Should i spray some WD40 onto it to try and lube it up a bit ? When i started the test it was definetely closed though.

If you do go cat back, then go non resonated to get the best sound gains. As you will see from Brooner's thread 'MRC Magic' a map will get you gains and a cat back and map will improve on that. The real gains are to be had are remapping a NA car with cats removed or sports cats however given VCA on...
