They simply cut the pipes either side of the cat and fitted straight through replacements (the tube is straight, no bends etc) I'd recommend a call with MRC, i was in and out in less than a day, sure it's not the cheapest mod, but to point Welwynnicks point you need to have confidence in the experie...

I had the rear most cats removed by (the most excellent) MRC, along with a tune, ARBs, filters etc. not had issue on MOTs, and been through a few even at dealer. can't comment to price as it was all in.

not seen the Seicane one before. the factor i was worried about mine was to keep the original MMI functions etc. though the Seicane looks to be LHD, i don't think it replicates the MMI for example showing heated seat controls or setting the car options, or inbuilt tel/nav etc. for me i had to retain...

think i have the instructions somewhere if useful, it's not overly technical, the 2 biggest issues i had was getting the glove box back in (it's fully of other electronic stuff so fair weight and lining the holes up was way harder than i'd expected) and fitting the box of tricks as it's a fair size ...
