Avus RS6 C5, Frodsham
See this lovely looking beast a lot when I'm driving Mrs Fizmo to and from work. It makes the pain of not having my RS that little bit worse. It sounds bloody lovely too. They all do. Ahhhh, memories.

Re: Au revoir :(
The strange thing is while there's a ropey reliability reputation, a little digging on forums would suggest that actually overall the Chimera (400 and 450, not so much the 500) are pretty good so long as they're well looked after and driven quite regularly. Ok, every now and then one will catch fire...

Au revoir :(
Well the time has come to leave the RS6 fold - I had the beast for just under 2 years, and had an absolute blast. I will never forget the savagery of the acceleration, or the sound of the Miltek at full chat. A change in circumstance means I no longer need a mile muncher, and I've always fancied a s...

Nothing worse than a bit of rim rash. Clears up with the right cream though.

Re: Sad PAS
I may be a little late to the thread, but it sounds to me like there was no shortage of 'special fluid' flying around that day. Might have made your steering a bit sticky though.
Glad it didn't require a re-mortgage to repair.

Re: Why you should be wary of Pagids
I've ben happily running Mintex pads front and rear since I've had the car. They were fitted when I bought it, though needed replacing due to a faulty sensor wire which kept flagging up a brake error on the dash saying they were worn when they weren't. Looked at the other options, mainly the Pagids,...

Re: Unit 20 Review
Yup - Unit 20 is about 30 mins drive from me, but even if they were at the other end of the country the journey would be worth it. Total peace of mind knowing the motor is in good hands. Always nice to have a perv at the other RS cars that are there as well - especially as there's usually a stripped...

Re: Photos of my RS 6 Plus - Sprint Blue
Amar, did you give Adrian Flux a call before going with Admiral? They were significantly cheaper than Admiral for me (though it became academic with Admiral anyway because they wouldn't cover a modded car). That is a filthy beast of an insurance bill!

Re: The opposite running costs thread
Unlike some wiser posters on here, I waded right in and bought the first car I saw, which needed some fettling. I knew it needed work when I bought it, and my logic is I'd rather know it's been done right, rather than buy a car that may seem ok but has had jobs done on the cheap. What I didn't know ...

I think we can put the wonkyness down to G-force, no? I'd better go back and double check...

Re: And its good night from me......
Sorry to hear the time has come to be RS6-less. :boohoo: There will always be opportunities to pick one up in the future should you choose, and there are always going to be those of us crippling ourselves to keep them in good shape for the next owner. Enjoy the Rover 75 forum... I imagine there will...

Re: RNSE on peeheads
The trouble with small claims is even if/when you win, it's still down to you to recover the money you're owed, and something tells me this little scrote will need more than a court order to make him pay back his ill gotten gains. I say we go round there and shake him upside down by his ankles, see ...

Re: Sky insurance
I've always found Adrian Flux to be superb - and they are pretty much the default option for modified cars. Usually it works out cheaper to insure a modded car with them than to insure a standard car with a bigger insurance group.
