Re: Audi warranty - do I extend?
I was able to get Audi Pure Protection Platinum in the US for $2900 which covers my car until 79,000 miles or 12/2017.
This was for a 2008 RS4 w/ 9500mi.. apparently when the car hits 10k mi, the price nearly doubles.

Re: First gear difficult to engage when cold
I seem to have a similar issue.. when the vehicle is cold, (i.e. running less than 5-10 minutes) it takes significantly more effort to go from 1st to 2nd or vice versa. Also has a bad habit of almost popping out of gear when I go to change gears.. I've had the dealer look at it, they said it was nor...

They think the esp disable issue is the switch.. I'll bet anything it is not. The switch is a momentary switch.. when you push the esp button, the esp icon comes up on the dash and then immediately disappears. Hold the button, the ESP icon comes up on the dash and disappears, so it is making contact...

Stuck Throttle..
(X posted on QW) I hopped in my RS4 this afternoon after work and hit the S button as I normally do. Let the car warm up for a couple of minutes (it was 75 outside) and off I went. I stopped to turn right and noticed something a bit funny about the idle.. I blip the throttle by pushing maybe 25-30% ...

Throttle delay...?
I've noticed my RS4 has a response lag when pressing the throttle.. sometimes it feels like the pedal needs to move 20%+ before the engine responds. It is harder to rev match because I'm not getting direct throttle/engine feedback.. For what it is worth.. it is better in sport mode.. Any suggestions...

At what temp does the RS4 remove the 7k RPM limiter.. I don't seem to see a oil temp display until this happens. In any event, I definitely dont push the car until the oil is at least up to temp.. I was on another forum where someone was complaining they keep bouncing against the 7k RPM limiter and ...

I think letting the oil get hot before applying load is important as is avoiding short trips, etc. There's the rub.. in Southern California, short trips are, unfortunately, the norm. Most of my driving is short trips or traffic (not by choice).. so I'm planning on 3000, maybe 4000 mi oil change int...

Mobil 1 0W40 is VW/Audi approved for use in the US I heard M1 0W40 shears down really badly in an RS4 engine.. I have it in our A4 2.0T, but that's a totally different car that drinks oil like you wouldn't believe. My dealer uses Castrol Syntec 5w40, but on I have the Audi maint pkg and they will o...
