Re: Developed a wacky clutch problem
Maybe so but I would expect some clutch slip. 100k (km) seems a bit low to wear out a pressure plate. Friction material of course could easily be worn but that would result in slip don't you think?

Re: Developed a wacky clutch problem
I have roughly 100,000 km now and have a similar prob showing up and slowly getting worse. First thought it might be clutch but there has never been a hint of slip. Most noticeable when downshifting which then results in high RPM. This would be a high vacuum condition and therefore the pipe is likel...

Hot laps -hot fires and greese?
OK so I'm home now, sessions 2, 3, 4 just got faster and faster. In 3 I was full on, max accel, max brake through the whole 30min session. The RS4 ROCKS!! No brake fade, no problems. In session 2 I nearly ran out of gas and had to slow a bit near the end, I started with over a quarter remaining but ...

So I've done my first lapping session, three more to go. Impressions, fast for sure - a late model corvette couldn't get close enough to pass. The understeer not nearly as bad as people say. Light understeer in the tight corners. Great grip exiting as expected. However it feels a lot softer on the t...

Thanks guys, The avoidance of handbrake is a good tip and I still have to remind myself about that once in a while . Dace- I've heard many good things about the DS 2500. Probably my next pad- are they noisy on the street? I had a set of Carbotech XP10/8 (front/rear) that were unbelievable on the tra...

Prep advice for track day. Stock pads OK?
I have a track day coming up in a little over a week and it is my first in the RS4. I am looking for any essential advice anyone might have to offer to avoid any surprises. I have had a tech inspection which included a brake fluid change (stock Audi fluid) and I have relatively new (stock) brake pad...

Thanks Sonny. I think I will be ordering that rear bar next week. The real trouble I am having is that with grip levels as high as they are in this car it is hard to make it slip on the street and maintain an acceptable margin of safety. I have to say I have not been able to do it yet but a couple o...

RE: Re: RE: Re: Video of the RS4 at Brands Hatch
Enjoyed the vid, looks like a fun track. I am a new owner and I am looking forward to my first track day in this car. In about a week's time I will be out on our local track (Mission, BC, Canada) and while it's definitely not as sophisticated as Brand's it's still a lot of fun. Rather tight and shor...

Sorry I don't think I was all that clear there. I was refering to the somewhat earlier discussion which I will quote here: "Guys - there are 2 versions of SDS. Partial SDS that comes whenever you have the Audi phone kit. This allows you to voice dial, that's it. Full SDS that only comes when you hav...

Just found the MMI can be updated and should address some glitches. http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums/sh ... php?t=5037 is a link for a european download and lots of info. Anyone know of a North American download?

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Better than Denison?
That seems entirely possible but it would be a rather poor design/bug. You may be on to something. I am trying to figure out if the MMI software can be updated. Does anyone know if it would improve iPhone interface if it were carried out?

RE: Re: RE: Better than Denison?
I'm a new owner of an 07 RS4 buit this look like it would work with my car as well. Maybe someone can fill me in, can I get the Audi head unit (RSN - E?) to accept a BT music stream from an iPhone 3G or do I need this device to do it? Do I need another part for the car or some other setting on the p...

RS4 joins WRX!
Hi All, Just want to say hello to all the owners/track addicts out there! I am happy to say I have an 07 RS4 in silver gray parked next to my modded 02 WRX. The WRX has been a great car and has recieved numerous upgrades allowing it to run laps around Boxsters and most other "sports"cars but it's ci...
