Re: Milltek around SW London
Mnay thanks for the recommendations. I have plumped for AMD, mainly because I can combine it with a trip to the god son, which dampens down the domestic hoo-hah over this. Booked in weekend after next. Might eventually get round to doing the ARB after that.

Milltek around SW London
Can anyone recommend a reputable and good Milltek supplier and fitter around SW London (or a bit further afield if not)?

RE: ARB
Do you guys who have replaced the ARB declare it to your insurers? If so, what sort of premium uplift are you looking at?

I've had spark plugs go once on me, in a Mk II 16v Golf. As I remember, the car was fine 99% of the time, but if you floored it, the rev needle would hare up though 5000, 6000, but then instead of climbing to 7000, it would get to about 6500 and then start dropping back, with a corresponding power l...

Coincidental bump for this. Since pretty much the day I bought it, it has either rained or (more recently) snowed. I had begun to think about taking it to drought-ridden areas as part of the humanitarian effort to bring rain. Today it got its first wash and polish. The kids like it so much they help...

RE: Dumdum moment (involving jump leads)
Smoking = heat = current is too high for the cable (and they were hot!). That much school physics I do recall. Cheapie jump leads, I suppose. It's not an extra cable. It's leaving the circuit open and earthing it (so googling tells me). Just not sure why it's necessary in this case, because I've jum...

Dumdum moment (involving jump leads)
Our D2 A8 chews through batteries. Today it spat out its latest one. So I look in the handbook for the S4 long enough to find out where the battery is, hook the batteries up and start the S4. The cables are smoking immediately. Oops. Turn off the S4, disconnect and resolve to ring the RAC, assuming ...

Vauxhall Bridge to Lambeth Bridge 11 Dec
Any of you lot? Red S4, 06 plate I think. 2x double exhausts and a non-stock exhaust note. Plus nifty little V8 chrome badges at the rear of the front wing, just by the indicator flasher.
Nice.
Nice.

Autoconnect for both factory system and Fiscon. You pair them once and that's it.

RE: RNSE Bluetooth
Vwcruise.com used to be in Tooting but are now in Hemel Hempstead. They fitted the Kufatec aftermarket BT system and an RNS-E to my A8. Works pretty well - you can control he phone from thehead unit, and it will upload your phonebook, but it won't upload your recent/missed lists from an iPhone. Cert...

Different exhaust notes
I heart the exhaust note of my cab. I assumed that all B6/7 S4s would have a similar, if not the same note. As I was riding home last night, I was keeping pace in moderate traffic with a B6 S4 avant. Although there must have been times when he was coasting with his foot off the gas, I was quite surp...

Solved. Rang the local dealership, who had to get the paint colour from Audi UK.
Cherry black pearlescent.

Re: RE: Bang! Trigger pulled...
You'll find the paint code on the data sticker in the service book, or in the boot No I won't. There's a blank space on the sticker where the code should be; and I know what I'm looking for because I'm comparing the sticker to the one on my A8. V. puzzling. Will ring Audi tomorrow. Need to get the ...
