Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
Just to let ye know, UNIT20 sorted the car. It was a faulty ECU. When it got hot it started to send the wrong signal to the fuel pump control module(I think).
Thanks UNIT20.
Thanks UNIT20.

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
New injector installed this evening, car started fine but, when I turned she off I could hear a noise coming from the rear. The intank fuel pump was making a "dum-dum-dum" noise, not very fast. So I tried to start the car again but she struggled to start, a good 20 seconds of turning the engine over...

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
There was hydraulic lock, but the engine only turned about half a rev before it stopped and it didn't fire. Had to remove the spark plug to clear the cylinder.

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
Did some investigation last night. Airbox was definitely not on properly, I've reseated it so I see what happens, its so easy to get this wrong.
Also injector no. 8 was struct open, it flooded cyclinder no.8, so a new injector is on its was. Hopefully that'll be it.
I'll keep ye posted.
Thanks.

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
Just out of interest, why does the car run OK with one of the MAFs plugged out? This one is confusing me.

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
Ya, logs were done while driving, I don't like to push her when shes acting up as she does. I'll try and get the MAFs to seat properly to illiminate them and do a few more logs.

I'll do a bit more testing at the weekend.Shoppinit wrote:You can test the resistance of the coil on the injector. It should be 13-16ohms when cold.

Re: Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
I would say if it runs properly with them unplugged then it's the MAF sensors, you could log them to see, reason I would imagine the car runs fine when codes are cleared is your probably clearing the learned fuel tables that the faulty MAF's have created or possibly a leak around the seals where th...

Help - Misfiring and Hesitation
Hi, I been having a problem with my car. Basically the car won't idle properly, it's like its misfiring at idle and its even worse when moving. Lamda's
Hi, I'm having trouble with my car and I think one or 2 lamba's are gone. As a test, is it OK to plug the rear lamda's into the front lamda connectors? And run the car with only 2 lamba's connected. I have my precats gutted so I get the related error anyway. I am currently running the car with all 4...
