Had the chance to test drive the 997S for 24 hrs while my RS4 saloon was in the paint shop last week so have been able to do a direct comparison. The 997 had the new 7 speed pdk box which changes gear 60% faster than a normal auto, good for 4.5 seconds, 0-60 (compares to 4.7 for the manual version)....

How about a 997 C4S, engines in the wrong place but it's a 911 and a hunkered down, wide bodied one at that.

Right well after some ringing round I've found an Audi authorised repairer who won't invalidate any warranties, approached direct and halved the price, quartered the time to do it and they're just round the corner. I'm so excited I'll probably prang it on the way over.

yes there's a nick on the edge of the door about half way up - can just make it out in white.
