Re: Smoke at idle after a run

Just checked and the oil level is barely over the min on the dipstick... that's after chucking about a litre in on Saturday..

Re: Smoke at idle after a run

Shouldn't be an over fill, I had the yellow warning come up on Saturday and put a litre in it then... maybe I should check the dipstick more often!

Re: Smoke at idle after a run

Morning chaps, Thanks for your input. In response: Smoke was white, I use about a litre every 1000/1500 miles (as I have since I've had it) and haven't noticed any loss in power or other such issues. Only recently have I noticed excessive smoke and it certainly seems to be more prevalent at idle. On...

Smoke at idle after a run

Evening all, Been a while since my last post, hope everyone is well. Still enjoying the B7 after a few years of happy ownership (slight DRC dramas that were thankfully sorted under the "goodwill warranty" thanks to some pointers from the lads on here!) Just wanted to see if anyone has had any issues...

Re: Dealer or Specialist

Sorry guys, don't mean to burst the bubble, but any garage can give you a proper service without being a "dealer", it's called block exemption and came in early 2000. Don't believe that just because they're an Audi dealer that they're better than anyone else, if its just a service it's no big deal. ...

PetrolDave - that may well be but I wasn't advised as such. Think they were happy to see the back of me... aka_dk - Whetstone Audi - just outside of Finchley in North London. For anyone who thinks they may have a problem, from my experience, I knew I had a problem immediatly. Wasn't anything to do w...

Final update from me (bet you're all happy about that) - just went and picked up the car - the booking in girl lied about Thursday apparently and they turned it round within the day and even gave it a wash and vac for good measure. Very happy days again after the doubts I had this morning, but now t...

Indeed, having dropped mine off this morning I'm suddenly getting pangs of anxiety as the girl on the front desk noted "we'll need it in for a couple of days to check it over and ensure that the problem you have identified is actually to do with the DRC". She also added "we can't just do this for fr...

Or you haven't taken it to MRC for a remapping so that you have full throttle across the band, rather than the extra kick at 5500.

Still the best thing I ever did for mine if I'm honest.. that and of course getting the DRC done for free on extended warranty!

Enjoy.

Bigi - Just use this thread as reference. I started by sending an email to Jeremy Hicks (Audi UK) stating that my DRC was faulty and which dealer I should take it to so that it could be replaced. Meanwhile I called my local dealer and explained the situation to them (they didn't offer up the warrant...

Just an update and thankfully one with a happy ending, spoken with Whetstone Audi and they (along with Audi Parts UK) will be fixing the lot under the warranty agreement. So clearly I'm pretty pleased about that. Anyone who has this situation and is in the area I'd suggest speaking to Anne Francis a...
