For Sale: B7 RS4 Milltek Cat Back Resonated Non-Valved Exhaust

I recently bought a 2007 RS4 saloon that has a Milltek cat-back resonated non-valved exhaust fitted. I'm going to change the exhaust for the valved version and the exhaust that is currently on the car will be for sale. As far as I can tell, the exhaust was fitted to the car in 2009 and it hasn't bee...

Re: Cats and O2 Sensors failing at the same time?

54k is too soon Especially since you were taking it in and all they did is reset the light. Not sure about the UK but the US requires by law an 8 yr/80k mile warranty on cats. Check into it. What is mpg on the highway? Overall average? Do you get a rotten egg smell under load? All cars run rich unt...

Re: Cats and O2 Sensors failing at the same time?

How many miles on the car? Sounds fishy about the sequential check stopping at the first fault. So after cleared it stayed off for a while? So it MUST have made the check on the other side (and apparently no codes). The upstream O2 is the control sensor, it modulates fuel pressure to maintain A/F r...

Re: Cats and O2 Sensors failing at the same time?

Not sure why they couldn't check the other side now or why both sensors didn't throw a fault in the first place though. Never ignore CELs unless you know exactly why they are there. I've had good service from my local Audi dealer/garage in the past, but am less convinced about using them as the car...

Cats and O2 Sensors failing at the same time?

For about six months my car has had an issue with the check engine light being on constantly and the car being a bit jerky when the engine is cold. The car has been looked at by Audi a couple of times and the only error codes that have been stored have been for running rich when cold. The car is cur...

Re: help, pre cat gutting on sat..

There is no way I would pull the motor and buy new manifolds. Drill them out and get some of these. I've used them before on manifold flanges. You can press in with a c-clamp and a socket over the threaded portion. It may be exactly what Audi uses? If you can get the studs out the flange on the man...

Re: help, pre cat gutting on sat..

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but my car is currently at my local dealer having a faulty cat replaced. When they tried to remove the old cat they snapped two of the bolts at the exhaust manifold end. They have arranged for a mobile thread specialist to look at the car on Monday but they h...

Re: Front Driveshaft/CV Joint

Hold fire before buying anything mate. My car makes a slight tic-tic noise from the front right when turning at slow speeds (car parks etc) and I read up and suspected CV joint too. I gave it to my specialist and asked them to look around and they couldn't find anything wrong. Been giving them my c...

Re: Front Driveshaft/CV Joint

A few weeks ago I noticed the car making a clicking sound that appears to be coming from the front passenger side. The noise occurs at low speed when turning right and then stops once I straighten up. I can only hear it when the windows are open. I assumed it was a CV joint problem so arranged for t...

Odd Recurring Fault

I have a 2007 saloon that's done 40K miles. About six months ago the car developed a fault that results in the engine management light coming on when I drive for longer than about 30 minutes on the motorway. The light stays on but goes out after about 4 or 5 days of normal driving (short journeys of...

Re: steering wheel size/thickness

Forgive my ignorance - I have a 2010+ RNSE - I guess that SDS is already built in and is not enabled as I have a FBSW ? I also have Bluetooth as well. So is it just a case of VAGCOM setting to enable the it? The car has the 'technology pack' .... According to PetrolDave on the RS4 forum the 2010+ R...

Re: steering wheel size/thickness

Fantastic - all the info I have been looking for. One question, do the MFSW buttons all work with the RNSE / Telephone / Voice control ETC? The MSFW buttons seem to work exactly as they would on a factory fitted RS4 MFSW. if your car has SDS high fitted then you should also have the full voice cont...

Re: steering wheel size/thickness

It was HappyDayz that I used. In addition to the £230 I mentioned there were additional charges of £95 to fit the new steering wheel and do all of the necessary coding changes and £27 to replace the TTRS badge in the wheel wth an RS4 badge. They supplied all parts apart from the wheel and airbag (an...

Re: steering wheel size/thickness

Mobblers, was it a lot of work to run looms etc? And are the parts readily available? And excluding the wheel / airbag roughly how much does it cost? I'm not technically savvy enough to do the work myself so I had it done by a company specialising in retro-fitting of OEM equipment. I've just checke...

Re: steering wheel size/thickness

I recently replaced the FBSW in my RS4 wth a MFSW from a TTRS and I think it's a big improvement personally.

One thing to note is that as well as moving the sport button to the dash you will also need to replace the winscreen wiper control stalk with one containing additional controls for the DIS.
