Re: Excessive oil use
No mate, it isn't VAG approved, I don't think any of those mentioned Ester synthetics are.

Re: Excessive oil use
Anything Ester synthetic is good, Oilman will be best placed to advise but from what Tim told me; Millers CFS, Millers CFS NT, Fuchs Pro S, Motul Sport, Motul 300V, Gulf Competition etc. I think the issue is the 5W30 is really a bit thin, and oil engines run quite hot at ~110-115C and the oil vapori...

Re: One word. INSURANCE
I just renewed my B8 S4 insurance, Stage 2, RS5 Brakes, Milltek etc all declared, best quote was £445 from Jamie @ APlan. In the end I went with HIC though for not a lot more. That's with all mods declared, fully comp, a few previous fast cars (Stage 3 B5 S4, a Subaru etc), 9Yrs NCB, IAM Pass, and 3...

Re: Excessive oil use
There is a definite trend of higher oil consumption than expected with these 3.0TFSI engines, not as bad as the 2.0 TFSIs though as mentioned!
Seems largely cured by switching from the 5W30 grade VAG spec oils, so a decent 5W40, even better if its an ester synthetic one

RE: RS6+ Brake Pad Question
PS. Sounds a bit dull that I know (Ie C5 Audi RS6) - what I meant was are the RS6 and RS6+ brake pads the same? Ie, are the cross-drilled disks the only difference?
Cheers

RS6+ Brake Pad Question
Hi guys.
My S4 has had the RS6+ Caliper & Disk conversion done in the past.
I need some replacement pads (ideally Ferodo DS2500). Does anyone know which pads I'm looking for (Audi model/chassis/year would be great!). Are they the same as the B7 RS4 pads?
Cheers
Phil

RE: How much you pay?
Phone Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels (0845 013 8231), tell him you have an S4 and list the mods (ie, K4s, intercoolers, remap, diverter valves etc) and he'll give you a very very good quote
