Re: Knocking Noise From Suspension

I've had 3 of the shock absorbers replaced under warranty in the past couple of years. Was told they were "developing a leak". When one of the front shocks "leaks" you'll hear extra cluck when going over bumps with that wheel.

Re: Fron Discs & pads cost ?

Camberley Audi did front brake discs + pads + labour at around 1k.

Don't think they'll cover brakes under warranty with 20k miles on them... I've replaced one set of pads at around 17k, then a couple of trips to germany later and at 27k got new discs and pads.

Re: Use of gearbox

In UK you're also supposed to shuffle steer (at that's what I was told to do to pass the driver's test here), and that's NOT the way to steer according to any performance driving school. I wrote it down to antiquity and lack of desire to change, so the handbrake thing gets filed in the same folder :...

Re: Use of gearbox

Why do they teach british drivers to use the handbrake at traffic lights is a better question... Regardless, with auto gearboxes you keep it in "D" at traffic lights, and just hold the brakes, be they foot or hand operated. I don't see you doing the car any harm this way, it how it was designed to b...

Re: Anyone tracked there RS6 yet?

I've done 5 laps of the 'ring in October last year in my RS6, taking some relatives out for rides. The car is big and heavy, no avoiding it. Obviously great go in the straights but come each corner and I was pussy-footing around. It felt pretty neutral, a bit of understeer which can be easily overco...

RE: Vinyl Car Wrap in UK?

Thanks for the heads up, their web-site looks pretty good so I may give them a go. A big thing to look out for are minute blade scratches on the paint that happen when they're trimming the film, but are not apparent until the film comes off. Ideally I'd wanna talk to someone who removed the wrap aft...

Vinyl Car Wrap in UK?

Howdy,

Any tips on a good and reputable place to have a full car wrap? I'm thinking of a full transparent wrap for one incoming car and something matt for another.

Re: RE: Re: Who do I complain to?

The big question is which Audi dealership is it? Some are definitely better than others! If the warning light is coming on there it must be detecting (and logging) a fault... They've replaced the part that the computer was pointing at, same problem. Replaced the ABS computer, problem persists. For ...

Who do I complain to?

A quick question to anyone that's ever had to deal with a less than co-operative service department... what are the proper channels to become that proverbial "squeaky wheel"? I'm on my 4th visit to fix "ABS" and "Parking Break Malfunction" warning lights, dealership is clueless as to what's wrong wi...

RE: Re: RE: Mileage

18k miles in just over a year. - Replaced tires once (went with PS2s, I think they're somewhat better than OEM Pirellis, but expected more). - Replaced driver's side rear shock absorber (14 days in the shop 'cause they forgot they needed tools to put the shock in, fiasco). - Day time running lights ...

- I rarely use Dynamic mode, Comfort mode 90% of the time as I find roads around here are far from smooth - I feel there's too much road noise, but that again is likely due to UKs asphalt - Far too many squeaks and rattles are appearing - Turning radius is <beep>, to be frank No other car can claim ...

RE: Any DRC issues in the C6?

Had one shock replaced at around 10k, actually. Headlight/daytime lights issue crept up at around 14k. 17k at the moment, no other issues yet.

It's doing better than I expected with summer tires on. Having spent the last 7 years enjoying Canadian winters, I feel silly driving on summers with white stuff on the ground anyway, back in Toronto I'd have proper narrower winter tires on at least a month ago.

I had the same issue a couple months back. It took Audi Slough 5 visits to figure out that they can't fix the issue and just replace the headlights completely. Also, others are correct in saying that the front bumper will be taken off. So two points to save you some time (I've wasted plenty of it wi...

Well, got PS2s installed. Road noise is about the same, tramlining reduced, ride quality improved. Bummer, was hoping they'd be quieter.
