Re: Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Vs Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetr

Hi, Yeah, my last set of tyres were Sessanta's, They're really good wearing compared to the 2 sets of pilot sports I had on before, but the Sessanta feel realy "soft" around corners, as if the side wall is flexing too much, something like that. I wouldn't have pilot sports again after 2 sidewall blo...

Re: Warning Light orange Emmisons

Hi,

I've got a set of downpipes with cats from my 2005 B6 S4 Cab. They were removed to fit custom downpipes and sports cats at about 30K.

Regards, Chris.

Re: Tyre Life

Nice one - can't wait to see the car in it's livery. It's great fun and, of course, the blazing sun helps! We normally go in to Le Man itself for a night and the surrounding villages are good for a laugh. There's plenty to do at the race track, of course and you get some characters in the campsites....

Re: Tyre Life

Hi, I'm off to Le Mans too, taking the S4 for it's second trip there. I get about 20K on a set. I'm running Sessanta Ultracs at the mo'. A little soft around the corners, but they grip and wear very well. Remember to swap fronts to back, halfway through the wear, as the fronts wear quicker, 'cause o...

Re: Warning Light orange Emmisons

Hi, It's worth checking the inlet mainifold bolts for tightness. There was a TBA ( techinical bulletin) about it some time ago, saying that bolts were working loose/ hadn't been tightened up at the factory. The inlet manifold is the big silver thing at the top of the engine and the bolts are very ea...

S4 B6 downpipes and Cats

I've got a set of original downpipes and cats for my Audi S4 B6 2005 cab.
The downpipes and cats were replaced with a race downpipe/ cat at about 30,000 miles.
I've had them lying around for years.

Also got the mid section exhaust.

Open to any offers.
Regards, Chris.

Re: Can't believe this hasn't sold

I can believe it.
It's an old car now - 8 years old.
It's a tin top saloon - Cabs are more fun.
For not a lot more you could get a nice C6 RS6. £999 quid will get it up to 720 HP & 600 ft/lb.

Stolen car - the DVLA were probably complicit

I don't think people realise what a scandle this is. Hundreds of companies have easy access to keeper's personal details and the scrutiny of such companies is remarkably limited. All of the old clamping companies, private parking companies and anyone who works for them have access to any keeper deta...

Re: Fuel consumption

Woah, there's something not right there ! I get an average of 22 MPG and that's with spirited driving. I recently went to Le Man and from Newcastle I got 350 odd miles to a tank. That's my record. I would check out your fuel trims with Vag-Com or via a dealer. They must be way out. Have you had the ...

Re: dealer recognises misfire but no codes

The first thing I would do is a TBA ( Throttle Body Alignment) using Vag-Com or via a dealer. Officially a TBA should be done each time the battery has been disconnected. This is rarley done at dealers after any work. If a TBA isn't done, then, the ECU doesn't know what position the throttle butter...

Re: MOT time

Mine's just passed it's fifth. It's been to Audi and 2 different MOT testers and I've never had a problem.
It failed once on a number plate bulb, but that's been it.

Re: Replacement dampers

Hi, How's about going for the Bilstein B6 ? "The B6 dampers are a direct replacement for stock dampers and offer increased performance. They can be used with standard or lowering springs. (If you will be fitting lowering springs at the same time we recommend going for the B8 dampers" Saw them at htt...
