Re: Discs and Pads...
Standard dealer attempt to extract money from you - they may be right but they may not. Not something to leave to chance so get them checked by a good independent. Many have a skimming service as new discs ain’t cheap. My discs did 78k - at 20k it’s highly unlikely you need new ones

Re: Which Extended Warranty would you recommend?
I’ve had the Audi extended warranty for the last year and it hasn’t been great. Front camera stopped working and was told not covered unless they prove the wiring isn’t at fault which would be a 2 hour diagnostic charge and not refundable. Check engine light came on and had to wait 7 days for the de...

Re: Emissions warning light on
Yes I had exactly the same fault codes cured by new lambda sensors.

Re: Possible Daytona Purchase
Without the exhaust, trade value of that car is probably low to mid 40s. Looks very over-priced to me.

Back pressure causing misfires from Stage 1 remap
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phmlSQ9zhnY Interesting video from a German tuning shop. On one hand it seems very plausible that the manifolds are restrictive. On the other, I haven't read any reports of misfires from stage 1 remaps on here. Is he talking sense or up-selling his £3k racing manifold...

Re: Engine warning light -
Very interesting, thanks. I take it changing lambda sensors is a straightforward job?innercry666 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 4:07 pmApparently to replace the coolant pump the front of the car needs to come off so the fact that Audi claim there is no fault code (and that you have already seen it) would raise alarm bells for sure.

Engine warning light -
Engine warning light came on this week - car is running fine at just under 4 years old and 80k miles. Had the codes read at a mates garage and showed an inter cooler coolant pump fault and 2 lambda sensor faults. Car is still under dealer warranty so we didn’t clear the codes so the dealer would see...

Re: Has anyone gone for alternative brakes?
I found the standard brakes terrible. I kept the OEM discs and put EBC Yellowstuff pads on all round plus switched to racing brake fluid. Made a massive difference to the pedal feel and stopping power. 35k miles on and still have a good bit of depth on the pads - prob get another 10k out of them.

Re: Brake pads
I've had EBC YellowStuff pads on all round for the last 35k miles with the OEM discs. With racing brake fluid (not sure what type) I noticed a massive difference in braking performance which was very disappointing at first.

Re: Another question on tyres
I highly recommend Michelin PS4s and a massive difference over Pirelli P Zeros. Slightly embarrassed to admit I managed 30k miles on a set of PS4s - obviously not driving the car properly!

Re: 45000 miles in 18 months
MikeFish - I don't really understand the digital service schedule. When I bought the car at 2 years old its service record showed an oil change and service at 15k and 30k. When I said I would be doing high miles they switched me to the "longlife schedule" which extended the service interval to 18k m...

Re: 45000 miles in 18 months
Mine does use a significant amount of oil - about a litre every 2-3,000 miles which I am told is within expected limits by Audi..... GSC - Really helpful info thanks. So gearbox/ATF/Quattro fluid changes roughly annually at the mileage I'm doing makes sense. Few questions: - Engine oil change every ...

45000 miles in 18 months
Bought my 65 plate 18 months ago on 30000 miles and just ticked over 75000. Keen to keep it till we are all forced to drive golf carts. Looking for advice about keeping it for the next few years and preventative maintenance: - I'm worried about the oil filter/turbo issue. Preventative maintenance se...

Re: Anyone know this car- RS65 TOW?
Was unable to track down any info on the car so bought it anyway and will cross my fingers. Pick it up tomorrow. I'll be able to cover it with the Audi warranty for the duration of my ownership so not worth losing sleep over. Thanks for the help and comments.

Re: Anyone know this car- RS65 TOW?
That's a really kind offer Skirs6 but it makes me realise I could find the dealer and call them myself and save you the effort. But top marks for the suggestion.
