RE: bars seem ok
I had a Thule outrider on my old RS6, turned a corner (fairly quickly but not stupidly so) and the lateral force on caused the bike to break the fork fixing on roof bar – luckily not damaging car or bike, but the Thule rack was ruined. Since replaced them with two new Thule 591s on my RS4 and all is...

Flat spot after quick gear change?
This is sort of related and I could regret this posting… I’ve noticed I get a clutch flat spot after a quick (perhaps too quick/ lazy change… i.e. not letting the revs off totally through the change). Basically when I let the clutch out at higher revs the revs remain constant, and then after a short...

> Since selling my 3 year old 65k mile RS6 I too am an ex-RS6 owner (now got a RS4), and I must say whilst I miss the load/ cabin space, I prefer the hands-on sheer hell-on-earth responsiveness of the RS4… you have to drive the RS4 hard, and by that I mean really wind it up to get the full potential...

Direct Line for me as well. Been with them for years, through Volvo T5, CLK55AMG, RS6 and now the RS4 however I do shop around each renewal. Gone down each year, now about £800 p.a. with full protected no claims, 34 hard years of life – steep I know, but not for a Company Director (allegedly we’re a...

It is a brilliant car; you’ll enjoy everytime you get in to it!, especially when the 7K warm up rev-limiter disappears… Just watch the oil level, for me it didn’t seem to use much until about the 2K mark and since then she drinks anywhere between a litre and two litres every thousand/ fifteen hundre...

Thanks for the help everyone, and I’m pleased to report that driving is a pleasure again. Whilst she was in for a replacement inlet manifold intake flap/ motor (a whole different story) they replaced the inner trim of the seat, and so far, a week in, I haven’t yet had to crank up the stereo…. :) How...

Squeaking nightmare hellish driver seat – help!
I’ve seen a few postings previously of how other owners have had the same issue but managed to get sorted. I’ve taken it back to Audi three times now and it keeps coming back. I’ve resisted booking it in a 4th time, but it is doing my head in, and I’ve got to do something. Can anyone tell me specifi...

[quote="W8PMC"]No creaks from the front but a creaking in the back of the car is bugging me. It aint the armrest & sounds like itClicking/ creaking from the rear? Having taking it back two times to Audi they think it was the rear parcel shelf. Apart from advising that I “drive around with it open”, ...

RE: mpq?
Andyuk911 – thanks for the response, I only occasionally run high octane (one in ten tanks or so), will things (apart from power) improve if I always go for the super stuff?

What sort of mpg are people getting out of the Avant? Since picking up the car (5000) miles or so ago, I’ve averaged 16.2.
For some reason (lack of turbos for example) I thought it would have been better than my old RS6 Avant as that hovered around the 16.8 mark.

I thought long and hard when ordering mine if I should go for the RS wheel or not… as I spend a fair bit of time on the phone I wanted to be able to ‘dial from the wheel’ so to speak, so in the end I went for the Multi-function one and haven’t looked back. Bucket seats are a must however IMHO. Ticko...
