Superchargers are linear, e.g. they drive like a quick NA car - theres no kick up the arse.
IMHO superchargers belong on V8s only

Re: K04's
The problem with this route is that you will have to do a fair bit of plumbing and re-engineering as the Garrett units are not a straight replacement for the KKK units. Downpipe and a manifold. A decent exhaust fabricator should be able to manage this. Its not exactly rocket science. We've made bes...

Re: Audi S3 boost pressure?
revo seems to run 1.4-1.5bar peak, probably 1.1-1.2 held. a K04 wouldn't flow 2.0 bar. MTM apparently runs 1.7bar peak ( and gets some good torque from doing it ), but as revs rise it drops off rapidly, my guess is partly because of the fact that it cant flow enough air at higher revs to sustain tha...

Re: K04's
why bother going for KKK turbos.
You can get far better VFM going for garrett units.
Just work out your desired A/R and go from there.
I would of thought a pair of decent T34 units would easily give you 500bhp+ with no problems at all.

Re: My S3 Boost Curves - Stock vs. Revo mode
Is it preferred to have the same torque but using less boost?
Absolutely!

Re: My S3 Boost Curves - Stock vs. Revo mode
yeah I dont see a 1bar difference. Yours spins up a bit later and backs off the boost more than sitas, but looking at the revs peak torque has already been made, hence same peak figs. Note that the differences with later spin up and backed off boost could be due to driving style ? very difficult to ...

Re: My S3 Boost Curves - Stock vs. Revo mode
yeah I would of thought vag-com couldn't be totally accurate on the torque graph so will be good to compare it to a stock one.

Re: My S3 Boost Curves - Stock vs. Revo mode
Observations... Chipped graphs takes longer to reach just under 1000mbar, a coupleof seconds or so. There is a little blip around 35 secs on the chipped graph - anyone know why/what caused that ? Looking at the torque curve its got 3 major flat spots/troughs that would indicate ign <beep>? ( not sur...

Re: Calculation for inlet temperature
As S2_Driver says I don't think there is a reliable formula as there are other variables ( air density etc ) that also have a bearing. I played with a power/torque calculator program but couldn't come up with consistent results. I've seen a website where a US guy is using one of these intelligent mi...

Re: Looking to buy an S3
Also looking to buy soon, but my budget isn't as big as yours... found some stuff out... 1) 210vs225, no. the cars are the same with just the ECU code being different.. therefore if you were to get the car remapped ( AmD, jabbasport etc ) or chipped ( loads of companies.. ) there is no reason for a ...

Re: RS4 600BHP from Digi-tec
Andiroo, Yeah motec is not very user friendly, I get the impression they like it like that to stop "messers", it being a "serious" product and all.. bit of upholding reputation & ego inflating going on. You looked at Autronic ? cheaper and can do just about everything motec does.. You'd probably wan...

No drop in rpms hence no turbo spooling when changing gears??? so the turbo`s are constantly running....... question is......
Flat shift will give you the same thing

Re: RS4 600BHP from Digi-tec
Interesting post. Surely the answer to reducing under bonnet temps will be vents in the bonnet, although this may ruin any "stealth" aspect of the car. the carbon bonnet could obviously be made with these built in. Far as lowering CR goes.. very common on big power turbo engines (esp. cossies as ste...

Remember Imprezas don't exactly idle well anyway!
I'd abandon the stepper motor, there are other ways of getting an idle
