Re: Confirmed Audi RS 6 Avant pricing

Not as much as the likely depreciation.

I'll probably be in the market for a larger car later this year, but at that price an RS6 would be financial suicide.

I can't compare to the RS4, but my 335d is a much more enjoyable car to drive than my old RS6.

It's the same with Porsche's extended warranty - it is only transferable to a new owner via a private sale. If the car goes through the trade, warranty is void. Lying or playing dumb...I guess the chances of being found out are quite slim, but if the underwriters of the warranty did choose to inves...

Hi Gary, off topic but how are you getting on with the BMW. I am looking to move the other way from DMS 330d to RS6. Patrick Hi Patrick - the 335d is fantastic! Handles better than the RS6, more nimble, 35mpg average and peanuts to insure. 0-100mph in just under 14secs and enormous torque (428 ib/f...

I sold my 04 plate 21k miler for £31750 privately back in November last year. At the time dealers were offering £30-31k. Add on 8 months of depreciation and some more miles I think you're looking at high 20's. I would try calling around a few dealers and ask them what they will actually give you for...

yeah, that might be true, but surely the issue is you are always having to say that? with the rs6 nobody asks you "how does it go?" they already know... To most people an RS6 is simply an audi estate car with big wheels that sounds a bit different. Surely this is one of the appeals of both RS6 and ...

Some more food for thought for PaulM... We replaced our RS6 in December with a 335d M-Sport Touring which we ordered without having driven one based on the expectation of doing more miles this year and the strength of a 330d test drive. So far the 335d has far exceeded expectations. Performance wise...

Avant for me too, primarily for practical reasons, though I also think it looks better. Most people buying these cars do so because they have a practical need of the space - otherwise they'd probably be in a 911 or something instead. There is also little in the way of competition when it comes to ub...

You're absolutely right there, and in my experience it's not something that many insurers make clear when quoting. I picked up on it half by chance due to something the customer services rep said on the phone several years ago when insuring a car with Bell Direct, and it seems that most/all insurers...

RE: Un-insured pecker ran into our RS6

Bad luck mate...you're right there are way too many tossers on the roads. It's sort of redundant now since almost every phone has a decent camera, but I've always kept a disposable camera in the glove box to make sure I had photograhic evidence - of car and driver - in the event of any accident. Going by the figures I was bid on my car recently, a 53 plate saloon with 25k miles would probably be worth about £26k in the trade. Add on the cost to the dealer to warranty and service the car, and I reckon their profit margin at that sticker price is at least £4k.

Ownership costs, years 2-3

My RS6 is now sold to a fellow forum member, who I hope will introduce himself soon and continue to post about the car. Here are the figures for my total cost of ownership over 23 months and 14k miles which others may find helpful. Total mileage covered: 14316 Servicing: £720 Tyres (4 x Michelin PS2...
