Car went into MTM and they noticed a misfire on some cylinders so they said injectors and coils need doing, which is also causing the high idle. As MTM cant do warranty work I took it to the dealer and they have had it a week and after swapping over some coils they say the misfire is random and not ...

As an update -

Audi said it could not be repaired.

MTM garage lifted the back seat and it shows two access points to the fuel tank top and these allowed the O rings to be replaced. The existing O rings were perished.

Power is fine all through rev range....

I did VAGCOM and got no fault codes - any measuring blocks I can check?

Andy - I agree it could be the ECU limiting it and yes it does happen in 4th and 5th only at 2700-3000 when the torque/boost is max. My petrol tank leaks a little when it is filled to the top - it leaks out of the pipe grommet that feeds the engine. Update: Temp fluctuation got worse and was always slightly over 90 even on a steady drive at 60mph. It never overheated thankfully. Car is in at Audi dealer and they confirm it is the water pump that is faulty. They will do the pump and thermostat for about GBP650 and it should be covered by the war...

I changed my MAFs out about 5 months ago. Slightly sharper feel and better VAGCOM readings but it was not a massive difference - my old ones probably were ok just a bit tired....
