RE: Keyfob

I think I forgot a step in what I outlined above. when the dud key is in the ignition with it turned on, I then manually locked and unlocked the doors a couple of times using the lock/unlock button on the drivers side. you could try that. other than that there might be an option to wake the unit up ...

looking back I think it cost me just over £1600 for the 4 wheels. Jimmy at RSD sorted me out, great bloke and I think you're right Bazza, RSD are the only official Oettinger supplier in the UK to my knowledge. Knutts, true you don't see many C5's around Woking although have seen a few C6's lately. I...

RE: Keyfob

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and looked at the threads on the forum (I was a bit confused about the passenger door one too), but I did this and it sorted mine out ok. 1. used remote on good key to open door 2. put dud key in ignition and turn on and leave for about 6 seconds 3. turn dud k...

cheers guys. got them from RSD (not sure if you're supposed to post links to non sponsoring companies but if you google oettinger alloys in the UK it's at the top) in Daventry, service was excellent and current prices are on their website, a bit more than I paid but that will be down to the exchange...

G'day Dan,

I've got the RXX in Charcol Diamond Cut on mine. Wasn't too expensive really compared to others at the time I was looking and a hell of a lot cheaper than the OEM Audi ones.

RE: Convincing Audi that suspension is f*cked

Rob, I'd take it to Camberley and get them to check it out. it's clear not all Audi Service centres are created equal. From my experience you'll get an honest appraisal at the very least. then you can work out your next step from there.

RE: Best (or should I say least bad) dealer?

I'll vouch for Camberley. Great, professional service and have served me well on a few occasions including for DRC. Rob Chorley is the man there to speak to. Luckily local to me but I'd have no hesitation in driving a fair bit to get to them. No other main dealer experience to compare them with but ...

RE: Warranty

Ditto for me with the above points. I'm with Warranty Direct and given my time over again, I wouldn't waste my time or money, I'd just build a 'slush fund' for any costs. I imagine you would be ok with an Audi warranty but would personally avoid the 3rd party aftermarket ones like the plague. Fraser

RE: Thats what I thought

Hi Calum, I agree 100% but me being more cynical and conspiracy theorist than your average human being, I'm holding off speaking my mind publicly until I get it confirmed whether they will be paying up or not. You never know who might be watching these threads ! Hopefully in a week or so all going w...

RE: Thats what I thought

Calum, I don't think the word's 'pain in the arse' do justice to what I'm experiencing at the moment. I've been without the RS for nearly 2 months now and I get the feeling that since they are not covering the RS6 any more (unless it's a renewal from a previous policy) they are trying everything the...

RE: Probably the wrong spot for advice but anywho

G'day Mark, I'm from Melbourne originally and currently living in the UK and owning a RS6. My plan is to ship it back home when (if ?) I move back there. I thought about this long and hard too like yourself. I've had the DRC replaced by Audi under warranty (although if it goes again it's coilovers f...

RE: Spare Key!

I got one direct from my Audi dealer awhile ago and think it cost about £30-40 IIRC. they did code it for me and didn't charge me for it although I was getting a bit done at the time.

Like SteveG, I've had both. Had a 996 C4S manual for 2 years until an idiot driving a 5 series decided he should turn right into me otherwise I might still have it. I would also agree with Steve's sentiments that if you can do with the smaller 2 door car then I'd choose the Porsche, but on practical...

RE: Detail

Scott,

that looks even better than new ! I agree about the price too, £500 is not much when obviously that much work has gone into it. Makes me feel like I wasted 3 hours on Saturday now !!

Gillingham isn't exactly handy for me but I might just have to make the trip after seeing yours.
