My late (54 plate) '6 still had the RNS-D.

I think it was only ever the 'Plus' that had '-E as standard. There are quite a few wiring changes (AV connectors, different CAN and TV tuner wiring etc.).

I ran a set of OEM 18s on mine for a while. The main difference is that they are MUCH more comfortable than the 19s. Not much difference in handling otherwise.

The basic Tracker was never standard fit but, annoyingly, was a free-of-charge option.

An on-the-ball salesman could have added it for nothing.

The GPS is for the sat nav.

The Service book recommends plugs every 20k so it would definitely be worth doing.

Good luck, Gray

Hi Everyone. The end result of all the trouble seemed to be due to two elements: 1) the car had not been used out of town for 3 years and took a lot of clearing and 2) the gearbox was on its way out and was probably keeping the power down for a long time after a gear change. In the end though the DR...

The CAN hi and lo wires are already available behind the RNS-D unit in the 30-way AV connector (the end pins, can't remember the numbers). You just need to isolate the old TMC unit (it is not needed with RNS-E) link out the CAN IN and OUT pins at the TMC unit plug: link 2–8 and 3–9 and then link...

Same thing happened on mine after having people sitting in the back. It seems that the sensors in the seats can be intermittent.

RNS-E was only factory fitted to the Plus.

RNS-D was standard on the later pre-Plus cars.

RS6/A6 Climate Control Panel - For Sale - New

Unused C5 A6 climate control panel for sale. Brand new still in box. This includes the cutouts for the heated seat switches. Part number: 4B0 820 043 AP. I bought this as a spare in case mine got scratched but as I no longer have my RS6 there's not much point in keeping it. How about £30 plus postag...

CDs for the RNS-D come from Tele Atlas. The 2008/2009 version is £113.99.

Note. If you upgrade to RNS-E (well worth it) you will lose the TV function unless you also upgrade the TV tuner and wiring.
