Pau1, Yep, that's me. Can't say I've spotted your RS6 could that be the stealth colour or because you've been in one of the other toys? Rilla, our other car is a Rav4 big enough to cart family and stuff around in so I'm now going for a coupe which handles well but still has four seats just in case. ...

By the way, if anyone is interested in the car I'm going to give it two weeks before giving up and trading it in.

RS6 Avant Misano Red FOR SALE

Have just put my pride and joy on the market as we are moving to a bigger house (bigger mortgage) further away from my office (72 miles per day) hence sale and reluctant decision to get a BMW 335d instead. I've had the fastest estate car on the road so now time to have the fastest diesel on the road...

I have had the same symptoms but haven't waited for another safe mode to kick in. I have kept the car off the road and will until it goes back to Audi (tomorrow morning) for the oil change. I will ask again for the codes recorded during the safe mode event..............

That's interesting I have just paid £925 for a further years warranty with Warranty Direct. I do have the LuxuryCare policy which gives me the maximum claim / total claim to the value of the vehicle. Thanks Dr B, after reading this I checked and found my policy was only the extra care (max claim/ye...

ask the dealer the codes the tcu logged (it will have for a "safe" mode event), and post them here... I asked the dealer for the codes, he said that these are not kept unless a warraty claim is to be processed. After speaking to the mechanic who worked on the car he told me that there are no codes ...

Not entirely sure I have had an answer to my questions, instead I have apparently kicked off a new 'left foot breaking' topic.

Again, do symptoms mean gearbox has failed or can a simple oil change fix all?

I have a standard car, no re-mapping, call me old fashioned but 450hp is fine for me.

I have, today, experienced problems with the gearbox/clutch. In first the clutch appears to dis-engage, the revs rise and then the clutch re-engages with a kick. The car then went into safe mode and I drove to my Audi dealer. After inspection Audi have suggested a gearbox oil and strainer change (wh...

I have just (today) taken out a 'Warranty Direct' warranty for £690 with an extra month thrown in (13 months). I went for the franchised dealer option which means they will pay Audi rates for any work required. Unfortunately the second DRC circuit went last week!!

I spoke to the Audi technician in Aberdeen who advised when replacing DRC parts to replace the alluminium washers belween the valve-hose-shockers with brass washers. Apparently failure often occures due to corrosion at these connections.

Bilstein B14 vs B16

I am considering going for the Bilstein system and have a couple of questions. I notice there is a B14 set(£770) and a B16 set(£1350) does anyone know the difference? Also, was the de-commisioning of the drc components (valves, etc.) a difficult task, did you remove the valves or leave them on?
