I managed 29mpg on a long M1 / M25 trip yesterday. Mostly with cruise set to 70mph. This went down to 27mpg for the whole trip once I hit London traffic.

I think MrsTwo could crack 30mpg.

It does seem odd that the tiptronic mode does not use the sport settings, or that they didn't just give you the choice of Tip or D, then a sport button which toggles the higher rev limit and sharper throttle response. When trying the different shift modes in my S4, it seems that the throttle response in S mode seems much quicker than when using the paddle shifters. Is this the case or is it just that S mode is more aggressive when changing down?
