Hi, Can onyone tell me where the coolant temperature sender is located on the engine. This is the only fault showing when i use the vagcom. Are there any diagrams in the public domain that show where all the engine sensors are located. Thanks, Brian

loss of power
Thanks for the reply. What do you mean g/s. When i log the blocks what number of block do i log as the four blocks in the window measure different sensors depending on which one i pick. I am beginning to suspect that a previous owner has had the thermostat taken out or that it has failed in the open...

loss of power
Hi, My rs4 has 146634 miles on it and does not as quick as it used to be. I have had it over 2 years now. Between 1000 and 2500 revs it is very sluggish but after that it appears to boost ok. No faults on vagcom. I did have a boost hose leak but i changed that hose. The temperature gauge rarely goes...

hate to say it but i'm 52. rs4 is a daily driver at around 20,000 miles a year. means a timing belt every 2 years. 143,000 miles on the clock. bits are starting to drop off now and are expensive to replace. Brian

brake discs
Hi, Yes seen them too. I would think they are the same size but are not floating discs as the originals but one piece. Depends also if they are the same spec of metal for quality of braking. There is also the issue of fitting a part that does not match the manufacturer's spec. Brian

b7 rear calipers
i would intend using a b7 rear disc as i have a set of them. what i'm wondering is, is it worth the effort and cost of new calipers for very little gain.

b7 rear calipers
Is the piston on b7 rear calipers any bigger than on a b5 rear calipers or is there only a mechanical advantage gained by using a bigger disc. I know they will need a bigger bolt to mount them. Brian

coolant temp gauge
My coolant temp gauge hardly ever gets to 90. Will normally sit half way between 60 and 90. With the aircon switched off it still wont get to 90 while driving along. The only time it gets to 90 is if i leave it ticking over with the air con switched off. Is this normal. Brian

Wheel Alignment
I was checking over my 2000 rs4 for mot and i noticed that the inside edge of both rear tyres was feathered. Wheels and tyres are standard. Is this normal or is the tracking out. I had to renew a trackrod ball joint so i need to get it tracked. Does anyone know what the tracking settings are. I am i...
