RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Swap for RS5 or wait for B8 RS4

I've just bought the B8 S4 as a stop gap - dealer says the B8 RS4 won't be with us until 2012.... we'll wait and see!

I have a similar issue with my 07 RS4. It's now with VAG in MK while they try and sort it. The dealers replaced the discs three times, and wheel bearings once - to no avail! I can only hope cleaning the discs works for you... my experience is turning into a horror story. I'd have requested a replace...

My '07 Avant is back in the shop at the moment as it has now gone through 3 sets of discs (all warped) in it's six month life. I can't believe it's faulty discs - and the hub run-out has always checked out OK, so now it's going to a different dealer with Audi UK tech involved... I'll post with the o...

To recap, my B7 RS4 Avant is 6 months old and has 4500mi on the clock. It's been back to the dealer twice now with severe brake judder, and yesterday, I got the car back from the second visit with it's third set of front discs and pads. Following much scratching of heads and dicussion between the de...

I am interested to read SimonC's comments. I bought a new B7 in Aug'07, and after suffering some dramatic vibration and a pull to the left, Audi did an alignment check and replaced the front discs under warrant last November. Having been out of the country for all of December, I am now finding a sma...

RE: isofix RS4 child seat

Agree with pippyrips.

I have two Britax Duo Plus Isofix in the back of my Avant - purely on the basis of a Which? recommendation. Interestingly, Audi sell this same seat (re-branded with four rings I think) although they add the traditional stealer mark-up.

Picked the car up Friday... 300 miles done already and it's every bit as good as exepcted :) Checked everything you guys mentioned, and all in order - bar the RNS-E startup screen which needed to be changed to the RS4 specific one. Also got the servicing interval set to annual (although 10,000 miles...

Thanks for all the replies... delivery is delayed due to the V5 going astray in the postal strike - at least that's the line I'm being fed! Hopefully before the end of the week though :D.

Will check all the above and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.

New RS4 - things to check?

Finally got the call from the dealer on Tuesday, and my brand new Avant will be delivered next Monday - and I can barely contain the excitement! I was wondering whether you guys can give me a few pointers on things to check before I sign for the car? As an example I've heard some horror stories of t...

Had a look at the Sports Tech site. Looks like a good alternative.

I wasn't aware there was a stockist there, since Milltek claim to offer their own fitting service in Ilkeston too.

Anyone able to give me an indication of price? I'm still waiting to hear back from Milltek on this.

Cheers.

Anyone know what I should expect to pay for a Miltek resonated valved cat-back system, fitted?

Also, could anyone recommend a supplier/fitter in the South East - or should I go up to Ilkeston to get it fitted?

Thanks. It doesn't look cheap either, so unless I hear some rave reviews, I think I'll avoid it!

Permagard

Hi All, I'm taking delivery of (one of the last) B7 RS4 Avants next month, and was wondering if anyone has any experience of Permagard? http://www.permagard.info I was thinking about getting the car treated whilst it's new and shiny - but the idea of a polymer that bonds to the paint makes me nervou...
